CFI Checkout Information
FL510 is not a flight school; however, we authorize certificated flight instructors (CFIs) to provide private instruction in FL510 aircraft after completing our checkout.
Eligibility
- FAA CFI or CFII certificate (current and valid)
- Current FAA medical (as applicable) and government ID
- Aircraft-specific experience appropriate for model/type
- Clean safety and compliance record
Checkout Overview
- Document review (certificates, medical, endorsements, logbook summary)
- Insurance acknowledgment and CFI agreement signature
- Aircraft systems & limitations briefing (model-specific)
- Flight evaluation: normal/short/soft operations, emergency procedures, systems usage, and local procedures at Mather (KMHR)
Documents to Bring
- Certificate(s), medical, government ID
- Logbook (digital or paper) with currency and model time summary
- Proof of CFI insurance (if applicable) or acceptance of FL510 coverage terms
- CFI Agreement (we’ll provide) — signed
Expectations
- CFIs schedule aircraft per FL510 policies and ensure renter currency
- Pre-/post-flight briefings cover risk management and local procedures
- CFIs ensure squawks are reported immediately per our maintenance process
